TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
A trigger point is a painful tense area that is found in muscle tissue and causes referral pain in other parts of the body. For example, a trigger point in the neck, may produce referral pain in the head and/or shoulder, arm and fingers. The pain can feel like numbness or burning sensation. It can be dull and/or deep. The size of a trigger point nodule varies according to the size, shape and type of muscle in which it is generated. Trigger points can be found anywhere in the body and are the most common causes for chronic musculoskeletal pain. Receiving massage with trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.
